Out of shape
We went to Steamboat this weekend for a friend's wedding, went adventuring, had a blast. As I was huffing and puffing up Howelsen Hill on foot, and then panting up every hill we biked in town, I thought: How could I have let myself get so out of shape? Last year this would have been easy. I vowed to be better at working out.
Today I picked up my sketchbook to work on some concepts for a roller derby drawing. I'd been feeling within reach of coming up with some really great work, only to find out that my figure drawing skills have more of a gut on them than my athletic endurance.
Visualization isn't worth beans unless without the hours and effort. Starting now I need to log some practice time or get used to feeling left behind and talking about how awesome I was in my prime.
